Quality drives everything we do.
As of Third Quarter 2013 (90%) of all projects are delivered on-time and it is continuously improving.
Every piece machined at ISM goes through a three step; first piece, in-process and final inspection process. Our quality assurance processes require that every product be inspected not only by the operator but by a quality assurance tech. The role of the quality assurance tech is to perform in-process inspection and to work with the operators to affirm the measurement of products produced. We believe in the old adage; “Measure twice cut once”. Lastly, before shopping, each product goes through an AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit)* inspection plan as the final quality assurance step before leaving the building.
Because ISM is a highly vertically integrated company with a comprehensive set of capabilities; we are able to keep a very high level of requirements in-house. This means full adherence to ISM standards and your project is less dependent on multiple vendors and variables that could negatively impact on-time delivery.
ISM is an ISO9000 company. But our certifications and processes do not end there. In addition to ISO900 ISM is also adheres to:
Maintaining a highly skilled workforce that can consistently produce products to the highest quality standards requires employees that are knowledgeable and confident in their area of responsibility. ISM is committed to ensuring employees receive the training they need to be successful. Machinists and set-up personnel receive blueprint and measurement training through GD&T as-well-as training to ensure fluency with each piece of equipment they are responsible for.
*Acceptable Quality Limit/Level (AQL)
is a test and/or inspection standard that prescribes the range of the number of defective components that is considered acceptable when random sampling those components during an inspection.
